The Stage article 21st June 2017: Michael Quinn reports on the recent publication of the Findings Report of the Irish Playography: Gender Breakdown, New Play Repertoire 2006-2015, highlighting the key findings of the report. Published by Irish Theatre Institute on 16th June 2017, the report analyses the gender breakdown of key artistic positions of new plays produced during this period. The article highlights the low levels of employment of female playwrights of new plays over the ten year period, emphasising that only a 2% increase was seen in the numbers of new plays by female playwrights in the second half of the 12ade. Quinn also noted the low percentages of female directors, casts, lighting, set and sound designers of new plays and affirms that these figures confirm those published by #WakingTheFeminists in Gender Counts.
